Dr. Alexander Tesler is a researcher at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemical Engineering from Technion and a Ph.D. in Chemistry of Materials from the Department of Materials and Interfaces at the Weizmann Institute of Science under the supervision of Prof. Israel Rubinstein. After graduation, he spent several years at the Wyss Institute for Bioinspired Engineering and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University studying mechanically durable omniphobic liquid-infused slippery surfaces. His scientific interests ranged from non-wettable ultra-repellent surfaces for preventing corrosion and biofouling, self-assembling monolayers, and plasmonic sensing to electrochemical methods for creating smart nanomaterials.
